Ming Mu Di Huang Wan 明目地黄丸

Mingmu Dihuang Pills nourish the kidneys, nourish the liver, and improve vision. They are used for liver and kidney yin deficiency, with symptoms such as dry eyes with sensitivity to light, blurred vision, and excessive tearing when exposed to wind.

Ingredients
Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shu Dihuang), Processed Cornus Fruit (Shan Zhu Yu), Moutan Bark (Mu Dan Pi), Chinese Yam (Shan Yao), Poria (Fu Ling), Alisma Rhizome (Ze Xie), Goji Berry (Gou Qi Zi), Chrysanthemum Flower (Ju Hua), Angelica Sinensis (Dang Gui), White Peony Root (Bai Shao), Tribulus Fruit (Ji Li), Calcined Abalone Shell (Shi Jue Ming).
Excipients: Starch, Dextrin.

Description
This product is a dark brown concentrated pill. It has a mild fragrance and a taste that is sweet at first, then bitter and astringent.

Nourishes the kidneys, nourishes the liver, and improves vision.
Used for liver and kidney yin deficiency, presenting with dry eyes and photophobia, blurred vision, and tearing when exposed to wind.

Specification
Every 8 pills correspond to 3 g of crude herbal materials.

Administration and Dosage
Oral administration.
8–10 pills per dose, 3 times daily.

Adverse Reactions
Not yet clear.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in cases of acute inflammatory eye conditions (“explosive fire eyes”), characterized by redness and congestion of the sclera, photophobia, tearing, and excessive eye discharge.

Precautions

1. Children should have an eye examination at a hospital before use; the medicine may be taken only if no other eye diseases are present.

2. If tearing in the wind is accompanied by a rapid decline in vision, seek medical attention promptly.

3. Take strictly according to the recommended dosage. If symptoms do not improve after one week of treatment, seek medical attention.

4. Contraindicated in patients allergic to this product; use with caution in those with allergic constitution.

5. Do not use if the appearance of the product has changed.

6. Children must use under adult supervision.

7. Keep out of reach of children.

成份
熟地黄、山茱萸（制）、牡丹皮、山药、茯苓、泽泻、枸杞子、菊花、当归、白芍、蒺藜、石决明（煅）。辅料为：淀粉、糊精。

性状
本品为深棕色的浓缩丸；气微香，味先甜而后苦、涩。

功能主治
滋肾，养肝，明目。用于肝肾阴虚，目涩畏光，视物模糊，迎风流泪。

规格
每8丸相当于原生药3克。

用法用量
口服，一次8-10丸，一日3次。

不良反应
尚不明确。

禁忌
暴发火眼者忌用，其表现为眼白充血发红，怕光、流泪、眼屎多。

注意事项
1.儿童应用时应先到医院检查眼部情况，如无其它眼病方可服用。
2.如有迎风流泪，又有视力急剧下降，应去医院就诊。
3.按照用法用量服用，治疗一周后症状未改善，应去医院就诊。
4.对本品过敏者禁用，过敏体质者慎用。
5.本品性状发生改变时禁止使用。
6.儿童必须在成人监护下使用。
7.请将本品放在儿童不能接触的地方。
8.如正在使用其他药品，使用本品前请咨询医师或药师。
