They are supplemented with Tribulus (Jili) and Mint (Bohe) to disperse wind-heat; Kudzu Root (Gegen) to release the muscles, reduce fever, and stop diarrhea; Trichosanthes Root (Tianhuafen) to clear heat and nourish the stomach while generating fluids; Uncaria (Gouteng) and Chrysanthemum (Juhua) to clear heat, extinguish wind, and relieve spasms; and Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi) to dispel wind and dampness.
Assistant herbs include Coix Seed (Yiyiren), Medicated Leaven Tea (Shenqu Cha), and Rice Sprout (Daoya) to strengthen the stomach, aid digestion, and harmonize the middle; Aucklandia (Muxiang) to regulate qi and relieve pain; and Poria (Fuling) to promote urination, drain dampness, strengthen the spleen, and calm the mind.
